Types of Residence Permits in Greece (Law 4251/2014)

There are various types and procedures to obtain Residence Permits in Greece. The most common and suitable for our clients could be:

- Residence permit for financially independent people (FIP).

- Residence permit for foreign investment (Golden Visa Program).

- Residence permit for students at Greek universities.

- Residence permit for self-employed entrepreneurs (i.e. Registering companies and doing business in Greece).

- Residence permit for non-EU spouse or child (younger than 21) of a non-EU citizen living and working in Greece for two years (family reunification).

- Residence permit for executives, administrators or board members.

- Residence permit for non-EU family member of Greek or other EU citizens.

Procedures of the process for the Residency:

1 In 3–4 days preparation
We evaluate your personal circumstances and help you select the most suitable program and real estate option.
In order to apply you must:
- be at least 18 years of age;
- have no previous criminal convictions;
- have a medical certificate from a Greek hospital confirming that you are free of any contagious diseases;
The main applicant may also add dependents to a residency application, including his/her spouse, and children.

2 Visit Greece
Travel to Greece to view properties and evaluate investment options.

3 Prepare documents
A detailed checklist will be provided, and you will be guided through the documents collection stage. Experienced immigration advisers will be checking a scan of each document for compliance to ensure all requirements are met, including proof of investment documentation.

4 Submit residency application
The complete application for a residence permit by real estate acquisition along with all supporting documents confirming investment in real estate will be submitted to the Directorate of Foreign Citizens and Immigration.

5 Processing of application and proof of submission
Processing of the application usually takes approximately 60 days. After the application has been submitted, the applicant receives a proof of submission, which is valid for one year and allows the holder to travel to and from Greece as often as they wish.

6 Receive residence permit
Once the application is reviewed and the decision is made by the Secretary-General of the Decentralized Administration, the applicant will be notified. The applicant will receive their five-year residence permit which will allow them to enjoy living in Greece for a five-year period, as well as visa-free travel within the Schengen Zone.
